What is languages.im?
languages.im is a small hub for learning languages, made for curious kids, families, teachers and anyone starting from hello. Each language gets its own site: Manx is open now at TalkManx, and the others will follow at addresses like french.languages.im. We’re building every one around the same five things:

Why these languages first?
We’re starting with the languages most UK learners take at school, plus the Isle of Man’s own. In the summer 2026 GCSE exams, French, German and Spanish were the three main languages. [source] As a share of all GCSE entries in 2026, Spanish had 2.29%, French 2.10% and German 0.57%, according to the Association for Language Learning (August 2026). [source]
And Manx, because this hub is made on the Isle of Man. Manx National Heritage calls the Manx language an integral part of the Isle of Man’s national identity and cultural life. [source]
